Many people do. Some Christians make a commitment to God to never have sex before marriage.
There was some thing a while ago about a girl wearing a purity ring in school. She had to be taught in isolation and was expelled because the ring was a "health and safety hazard". Yet the Muslims can wear headscarves and Sikhs can wear bangles. What is wrong with England?!

I took a sociology class, where it was claimed that somewhere between 2 and 3 fifths of men were virgins at marriage. Nonetheless, apparently men are less faithful than women after that, statistically.

Like everyone knows, there are a lot of health reasons to avoid unnecessary sexual contact. Nonetheless men tend to shrivel up when denied the opportunity to test themselves. It doesn't help that women are generally after the older men.

A lot of people do. The only requirement is that you have high morals. Of course it is not better that they don't. Who wants to buy a used car if they can get a new one--men OR women.

Yes, both I and my wife did.
your virginity is the most precious gift you can give to another person and you can only give it once; we saved ours for the wedding night and I've not regretted it once

I did. Don't know about the woman I was about to marry; didn't ask. I was marrying her, not her history.
