Depends on how you define good...I would describe it as entertaining for kids. I am glad that it has gotten alot of kids back into reading something more than a video game magazine or text messages!

I do get annoyed when i see adults reading it, and when i ask them about it they say stuff like "its, like, the only novel Ive ever read"...makes me sad i guess....maybe I am a book snob.

I LOVE the Harry Potter Series. They're my favorite books. (Excepting the 5th one which was a little depressing.) I like the books better than the movies and no one will ever change that. I didn't think anybody did not llike Harry Potter, no matter how old they are.

Yes,Of course I love them!!!!They open you to yet another undiscovered world. They Are so different from others. They are great, very creative, and always interesting, that you can never put the books down. One thing always leading to another.I do have things i dislike, just the way she uses to simple vocab and details, she could spice it up a bit, but other then that its great. An amazing story, that can be read by anyone. It makes you cry, laugh, angry, and so much more.I love them.

Depends on what you mean by "good".

Did it sell a lot of units and make J.K. Rowling rich? Sure did.

Did it get a whole buch of kids interested in reading? Yep.

Does it have an exciting story about interesting characters? It does.

Is it going to stand in the annals of literature with the likes of Joyce's ULYSSES and Proust's A LA RECHERCE DU TEMPS PERDU? Hell no.

But I read all three anyway.

I love all the books. Generally I'm not a big reader of fantasy-magical type books (I tend to stick to realistic fiction) but these were wonderful. I'll be sad when I'm done with the seventh one.

They are way better than the movies! I love them, but I wish J.K. Rowling would extend the series. I would be heart broken when I am done with the 7th book.

For preteens, yes. Once you get older, read the series that it was copied from, Lord of the Rings. This is a much more intelligent series and it is better written.
