He's probably teething, give him some toys to chew on instead in the meantime he will eventually learn when he has put his fingers in too far.

Well, I know that babies use their mouths to explore. Not only will he put his fingers in his mouth but other objects as well. It is very common and just a normal part of his development. Just be sure that he does not put anything dangerous in his mouth or he'll choke and make sure his fingernails are trimmed so that he doesn't scratch his mouth or face.
The spitting up of milk is also normal. His stomach muscles are still developing and getting stronger so sometimes it pushes the milk back up. Sometimes babies take in a lot of air while they feed so when they burp or try to relieve the gas, the milk also comes up. Yet another reason can be that he's eating more than he needs. Just make sure that you hold him upright and keep him calm during feedings to prevent frantic or quick feeding. Make sure not to put too much pressure on his tummy during or after feeding and burp him frequently.

Babies are curious and it sound like he is discovering fingers. Babies are unaware of limits so gagging himself is unintentional. Teach him not to stick his fingers down his throat and he will stop.

All babies like to stick things in their mouths... it's their way of exploring... and why you have got to be especially careful about what you leave lying around within their reach.

Believe it or not, he could be starting to teethe. Maybe you should try putting those chewy things that you cool in the freezer in his mouth. If he's teething, that will make his mouth feel better!

try replacing his fingers with a binky. it is not long
enough to go down and choke him and might do the
trick. to people who do not believe in using binkies
i always said "i have seen half grown kids sucking
thumbs or fingers but i have never seen one take a binky
to school."

All babies eat their fingers. They do it because they have discovered that they can, and then they do it because they are teething.

Yes, it is normal. He can't swallow them. As soon as he grows a bit more, you will find him sucking his toes too.
