I am on accutane and was wondering what other side effects other patients have had. I am a 14 year old female.

I used it when I was your age, I am now twice your age.
It can be very, very bad, if you are a girl, DO NOT TAKE IT.
It will dry up your skin to the point your lips will crack and bleed. I almost went blind due to my tear ducts drying up. The side effects for acutane are horrible, but it sure does clear up your acne.

Right now my skin is perfectly clear, for the first time in 3 years. It's been about 9 weeks and all my acne is gone. It is such a great feeling to wake up with clear skin.

Accutane is very effective for controlling severe acne.
However, it can seriously thin your skin, leaving you very susceptible to burns. Usually, pharmacists advise patients to stay out of the sun and use a high spf sunblock. But things like waxing and bleaching body or head hair can also lead to nasty burns, and you will have much less tolerance of things that irritate the skin.

my sister in law is on it right now, she's almost finished.
dryness (extreme) skin, lips, ect.
severe birth defects, you have to be on the pill
mood swings
those are the ones she's told me about
