The thoughts of many people are set on tommorrow.
Matthew 6:34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

We should do something with our thoughts that will help us to focus on today.
Phillipians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Share your daily goals and plans with God.
Matthew 7:7 Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

I can only speak for myself on this. Both my parents died young, 42 and 48. I know that we do not have forever to do all the things that we want or say the things that we want to say so I make it a point to tell people all the time how much I appreciate and/or love them. I don't want them to ever go away without knowing that I love them. I hug my children and kiss them multipule times everyday.

bypassing entirely the usual bible "interpretations" how about learning through meditation how to still and focus your mind always. i.e thoughtless concentration at all times then every moment will be an eternity. btw that's part of what jesus really taught. that's what P4:6, above really means.

I think looking up at the sky makes you "live in the moment" and also learning to laugh, a funny joke can brighten your day and make you remember what is truly important.

I think you're interpreting the Bible to help your own aims, but aside from that...

I would recommend going out and doing something fun with friends. It sounds simple, but it'll be fun, go in directions you never expected it to, and give you good memories. :)
