OK, now that I have your attention - do you think people consciously avoid the number 666 for its biblical implications?
I vaguely recall a reference book I read [somewhere] which stated that the number was included as a slap at the current pope at the time that section of the bible was written.
PLEASE don't cut and paste any bible verses here; tell me what you THINK or have experienced. Thanks!

Actually, the 666 is not representativer of Satan, but actually of Nero, who was very oppressive to the Jewish people.
Of course, I could be wrong. Theology was only a half year course.

Certain people do avoid the number 666, but can you think about all the times you have seen 666 displayed somewhere by random. It doesnt happen, think about it, why is this??? Just cause many people dont belive in Christianity doesnt mean people should go around bashing it or testing it. I am a Christian and I say let it be, dont worry about it. When the beast comes he comes and if he doesnt he doesnt. So no need to concern anyone about a number just cause it is in the bible. Also remember the Bible was inspired by God, and written by men, so there maybe mistakes in it. To put your faith all into the number 666 is really cutting out the entire meaning of being a Christian.

People are all different and all have different beliefs... Most buildings in NYC have no 13th floor for similiar reasons so basically either half the population of the State of NY were really stupid to the extreme of leaving entire floors off of buildings or there is some deep rooted suspicious nature in human beings that something inside them is compelled to respond to... Until they evolve that is.
As far as 666 goes. I think it can be considered a condition more than an actual number. and all I have to say about that is... The minute anyone asks me to insert anything under my skin for scanning purposes... It will be in that minute that I will know that my smart-assed attitude caused me to miss the rapture and I will be forced to tunnel underground and start a secret society of rebels and re populate the earth with my people... Wheeee, That was fun! Ask another....

technically, 665 would be across the street from 666. 664 and 668 would be the actual neighbors of 666.
seriously, I think the whole 666 thing is a load.

Yes, but the people in 667 are the worst, the way they play their music all night, 666 can never have anyone over for a quiet sacrificial goat ceremony. Maybe when the lease is up...

I am not Christian, but a relative's lisence plate has 666 in it and htey get in a lot of mini-crashes. However on June 6th, 2006 this person had nothing good happen to them, so I think the number is pretty meaningless.

i dont avoid it, thats stupid. Sure i believe it is the number of the beast, but seeing it in my daily life is just pure coincidence.
First time my friend called me from home (number starts with 666), it was 3 in the morning. I woke up, looked at the caller ID and thought, why is the devil calling me at this hour.

I do. I once waited in a long line in Florida for a license plate for my car and when the lady in front of me got the number 665 I left and went back the next day. My neighbor was a preacher and I know I would have had comments about it everytime he saw the plate............so i opted for the chickens way out.........

I used to think that 666 sh1t was some real sh1t. When I heard that 06/06/2006 was on the way I fliped my god dam lid. I was preparing for the fall of the earth. When that sh1t didnt come I was so god dam relieved. Now I dont believe in a dam thing. If I cant see it touch it or taste it I dont fuking believe it. That sh1t turned me athiest. I have known people that do avoid 666 for that reason. It is a crazy superstition to me.

No. Just because 666 is the number of the beast doesnt mean theres anything special about it. Just superstision.
