I am 39 weeks pregnant and have lost my appetite completely. I know that my body is hungry but nothing sounds good and I only eat because I know I have too. I don't know if I am getting close to delivery and my body is limited my intake or what. Has anyone else experience this???

Happened to me in all three pregnancies. You tummy has gotten so big that your stomach maybe can't tell you need to be hungry. Eat frequently, and eat small amounts...

as your baby gets bigger your stomach will get pushed to the side and that can cause you to want to eat less or feel full a lot sooner. Decreased appetite can be a sign of labor starting soon expecially if you are having loose bowel movements to. You could go in labor anyday now so just be sure to drink lots of fluid and take your vitimins you will be VERY hungey right after birth. I'm 16 weeks with my 3rd and ALWAYS hungry.

Yep! Your tummy is so smooshed, you barely have room for food- same reason you pee every 30 minutes! You are at 39 weeks so of couse you are close, but the hunger thing isn't a good indicator that you'll deliver any sooner. Eat small portions several times a day- I liked apples w/ peanut butter and small high protien and fiber snacks like that. Good Luck and God Bless!

I think you are ready for the baby to be born... physically and mentally. I lost my appetite at the end too. It'll come back, but you may be more selfconscious of what you eat because you'll probably want to try and lose excess baby weight. I craved tea and toast during labor. Nurse was kind of enough to oblige when my son was born.

I had barely any room to eat food and nothing sounded good and when I ate I generally felt sick especially near the end so that could be a culprit.

Congrats and I know you're excited!

I did cause I was very stressed at the time. So I stopped eating. The only reason I gained weight is because I drinked a lot of milk. Drink milk and take you prenates. Try to not to worry.

your stomach is so squished that you dont really feel hungry that and if you suffer from heartburn you get to the point where eating just doesnt seem worth the effort and the after effects.

since the baby is taking up a lot of room youu are not as hungry as normal and that causes youu to have heartburn

I experienced that! It could be because the baby is so big that your stomach has very little room now.

Just make sure you are getting enough nutrition and you will be fine...You are almost there!

Good luck, and congratulations!!!
