It just depends on if you want the second one or not. I suspect you would feel less guilty about giving it away and that is really what you are asking. I don't think it would be a big deal to just keep it for later and the next time the vending machine cheats you just call it even.

I eat/drink one and try to place the other one back in the machine, even it it means my arm gets stuck. I paid for one so should only get one, I'm not going to cheat the vending machine company.

Unless I'm eating with a co-worker or I know they would like something (like they start talking about getting a drink or whatever) I'll just eat it myself.

Depends on what it is, and if there's anyone nearby.
Normally, if it's a snack like a snickers, I'd eat both. If it's soda, I'd drink one, because I don't really need 2 sodas (not that I need 2 snickers, either).
