i have a daughter but was seeing two men very close together at time of conception. She is the spit of one of them, it is now a couple of years later and i have had to contact him. He thinks dates are a couple of weeks out and not possible but although I agree dates are a bit shakey, she is identical to him. How can I persuade? HELP!!

Why is it important? Are you seeking financial help?

You can certainly demand a DNA test, but you will
certainly alienate him if you do. If he turns out to be
the father, what will you do?

Frankly, by having sex with two different individuals so
close together, you may have lost one or both of their
trust.

Just showing him the face of the kid probably won't
do it - if he actively wants to believe it isn't so, facial
recognition won't be strong enough to get around it.

Of course, I suppose if he is dead set against it, even
a DNA test won't prove it to him. However, proving it
to him is not the point if the only reason you are doing
it is to get child support, right?

In that case, you only need to prove it to the judge.

Judging paternity on how a child 'looks' is very dubious.
Ask any parent of an adopted child and they will tell you lots of people have told them, 'he/she looks just like you' before they know the child is adopted.

If you want to know for sure, do a DNA test, but there is a lot more to being anyone's 'Dad' than having provided half their DNA.

i know how you feel. i have the same problem. i have just given up trying to persuade him that she is his. i don't even speak to him now and he doesn't pay a penny toward her keep. my advice is to give up and one day he will come to you. that's what i am waiting for. my daughter is two and a half and he has seen her twice for about ten minutes each time. to make things worse he is staying round the corner with his new girlfriend and treats her two daughters better. men..... who needs them?

The only way to prove it for either of you is through a paternity test - looks don't actually mean anything, let alone prove paternity.

Get a paternity test done. All they do is swab your mouths and in a day or too you have proof of who's she is.
