Sounds like a McFunny story. You go girl!
I worked at Hastings, as store similar to Target (except it’s not as popular and it's understaffed).
Being the only bilingual worker, I was asked to work over time even though I was a part time worker. Not that I can complain, I loved working there at least until a new manager was hired. I had worked at the store for over a year, I was too young to apply for a manager position, and in walks in a manager with only two weeks of training whom I had to train as well. I HATED HER!
She clocked in late and left early every day. She would pick at the crud in her nails while giving orders instead of helping out. I'm not exaggerating, I thought it sounded made up when I first heard it but it was true. Oh the irony! She would also call people out of their departments to help her department which slowed everyone down. Managers didn’t do that at the store, they’d actually help out. It was awful, we usually only had two registers open to sell items, buy back items, and make shipments to prisons.
My coworkers constantly complained about her to me and so gossip was inevitable. After a week of working with her, I sent in my two week notice along with a letter of improvement AKA list of complaints. The beauty of it all was that five other people were quitting at the same time. Two days before my final day, she quit on the spot because everyone was being rude to her (or as I’d like to put it, she caught coworkers talking about her many times). If she knew that I was leaving she probably would have never quit. Call it abuse if you want but I wasn’t going to leave without starting a ruckus. Maybe the store manager will learn to monitor his new managers.

way to go!!!!! I would of done the exact same thing....I hate it when people think they have all rights to tell you how and what to do when you are the only one doing the job of 4 people....
my last job...i hated it too...only lasted 6 months...(this whole time I was pg) and when i finally was gone for maternity leave...I told them i wasnt coming back...but back track about 3 months before that...i was in for my 3 month evaluation...and there I told the manager, his son, and the gal that was "training" me..that i was so confused on this whole job position... one week she tells me to do a job a certain way, so then i do it and then i get yelled at again for not doing it a different way... I told the manager that it was like a no win situation with her.... I think they knew I wasnt going back after that day..

Any job you will ever have will involve mindless friction between personalities. But, to answer your question...
I had a job in Arizona. AZ has no laws about bad paychecks. Bad personal checks yes. Bad paychecks the sheriff doesn't give a rat's ***. Anyway, this company must have had difficulties. Their paychecks would be bad or they would ask us to hold them.
I woke up one morning an thought, you know, why am I doing this? I rolled over and went back to sleep. Never called them. Never went back.

Fortunately, I've been blessed in my previous jobs. However, at one of my jobs a guy quit and decided that it would be a good idea to set of the fire alarms (and sprinkler systems) on his way out. It was at a plant that used paper to make its products. More than $80,000 worth of paper was ruined. I'm not sure what came of his court ruling, but I think someone said he had to pay a small fine.

This job, I was at, I trained a young Gentleman and they decided to hire him full time and have me part time.. I told them I quit!
Well, they gave me my paycheck and I went to krogers with my wife to cash it...The Manager was in line ahead of me, that I quit from... He asked me 22 times, while we were both in line, to cash our checks to come back! I finally told my wife, "am I not speaking English well enough, that this guy cant understand me, that I am NOT going back??" He finally go the "hint" and didnt ask again!...sheesh!
I wish you well..

when a friend and I quit our job with a goose step, our arms high in the air and singing the German song 'the flag high", the looks on the faces of everyone was priceless
