Fish oil is rich in Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids. These nutritients are very valuable to the body, as they are also responsible for the cure of many diseases and syndromes.

However, recently I found an article (in Wikipedia) that consuming too much fatty acids can be harmful to the body. See source for advised intake (The omega-6 to omega-3 ratio
).

Omega-3 and omega-6 be consumed in a balanced proportion; the ideal ratio of omega-6:omega-3 being from 3:1 to 5:1.

Fish oil - especially salmon oil - are high in omega 3 fatty acids, which, along with other nutritional cheemicals help keep the body's blood sugar as balanced as possible.

Another important chemical, I understand, is gammalinolenic acid (GLA) found in 5-minute oatmeal, borage and evening primrose oil.
