It's a good way to get exposure, but it probably won't happen. If they did do that, then they'd get thousands of requests every day.
The best advice I can tell you to get exposure, and noticed, is to build a following. When you play.....people should want to come listen and party with you. If you're not attracting them, then you may have some of these problems:
#1 the band sucks.......no one will come for a sucky band
#2 the music list sucks.....they won't come to party if you don't play songs that the people like.
#3 the equipment sucks or it's adjusted wrong.....they won't party if it sounds like you singing in a box, or if you're equipment is constantly failing.

So think of all this. Why would someone want to listen to you? You need to tape yourself in practice, then listen to it the next day. How is your stage presence? Try practicing in front of a mirror.
You may think all of this is BS, but I've been there....done that. If you want to sell your music, you're going to have to crawl before you walk. People are looking for awesome bands to party with. You also have to take in account of your location. You can't expect to have a good following playing grunge in redneck country. Best of luck to you and your band.

I'm not sure about regular music but if you have a music video:

If you would like to submit a music video to Yahoo! Music please send a BetaSP copy to:

Yahoo! Music Video Submission
2700 Pennsylvania Avenue
Santa Monica, CA. 90404

In addition to the music video please include a signed copy of the video agreement found here:

http://launch.yahoo.com/musicvideos/form.doc

No videos will be added without the attached license.

Please note: Any music videos sent to Yahoo! Music will become property of Yahoo! and will not be returned.

Please allow 3-4 weeks from the date LAUNCH receives your materials for them to make it online.

Thank you!

Have you thought about distributing your music through Burnlounge? You can submit your CD and have your music on over 50,000+ websites and when people download your music you make money. I have a burnlounge store at http://burnlounge.com/mlbliss and if you would like more info on this just send me an email and I would be happy to help you out.

Research them at http://corp.burnlounge.com

I think Yahoo Launch is for artists who have 'made it' already

But if your music is of the rock/indie type you can always send it to Zane Lowe of BBC radio 1...he can expose you to many opportunities if he likes your stuff

Of course creating blogspots and using other internet tools and spreading the word can also be helpful

Here is Zane's address for more info:

Don't worry if your music isnt of the rock/indie genre: send it to Radio 1 anyway, and they'll expose your music if they like it....
