Yes, you are and I am. Evolution progresses through genetic mutations. But if you are talking about Ninja Turtles or something, nope. Nuclear waste or other things that seem to mutate in movies usually will kill things, not help them.

I am glad you clarified "in the real world"...I was going to point out the X-Men but you said that fantasy is off limits.
Many humans exhibit gene mutation which is different from normal/average Homo Sapiens. The two examples that come to mind are Down's Syndrome and polydactylism (see http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/content_pages/record.asp?recordid=54815).
I don't think it's PC to call people mutants. Except in the realm of fantasy of course.

i think u got a idea how a mutant will be?
In real world there will be mutants as result of technical defect in some of the future companies like TEST TUBE BABY PRODUCTIONS PVT LTD, CLONING CENTRE etc.

Mnay scientis also generated many mutants by artificial methods like radiation, chemical methods etc.
