I haven't yet watched Pulp Fiction, but my friend said something about something that happens to a dog. Is he confused? I'm too lazy to go rent it at this very moment, but animal cruelty bothers me.

I don't recall an actual dog in _Pulp Fiction_ but there was a discussion between Jules (Samuel L. Jackson) and Vincent (John Travolta) about whether a dog is "a filthy animal" that takes place toward the end.

Jules: Pigs are filthy animals. I don't eat filthy animals.
Vincent: Yeah, but bacon tastes gooood. Pork chops taste gooood.
Jules: Hey, sewer rat may taste like pumpkin pie, but I'd never know 'cause I wouldn't eat the filthy MF. Pigs sleep and root in sh*t. That's a filthy animal. I ain't eating nothin' that ain't got enough sense to disregard its own feces.
Vincent: How about a dog? Dogs eat their own feces.
Jules: I don't eat dog either.
Vincent: Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal?
Jules: I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.
Vincent: Ah, so by that rationale, if a pig had a better personality, it'd cease to be a filthy animal. Is that true?
Jules: Well, we gotta be talkin' about one charmin' MFin' pig. I mean he'd have to be ten times more charmin' than that Arnold on Green Acres, you know what I'm sayin'?

What a great movie.

I've seen it many times and for the life of me can't remember there even being a dog in that movie. And, animal cruelty bothers me too, so I think I'd have remembered if there was something like that in there.

... Your friend must be confused .... nothing happens to
a DOG ... but the movie is not very friendly to humans ...
but it's the only Tarantino-movie worth to be seen ... a good
old Gangster-story, very good actors and ... pictures !!!
A MUST !!! It's like a movie by Stanley Kubrick ...
