I do not understand why some people wear Che Guevarra t-shirts when he used to follow instructions to execute people when he was with Castro. Why does anyone want to support that?

People don't really idolise Che for being a communist or for his actions under Castro. While his beliefs are shared by some of his "fans" most see him more as a symbol of rebellion. I also read a story somewhere that a Japanese student who had a Che patch on his bag thought that he was an American singer.

It's not the executions people like about Che Guevara. He was a revolutionary who fought through all of Latin America to free the poor from the opression of the rich. He was a hero of socialism, one who fought for the rights of people, one who raised his voice to condemn the abuses of imperialist governments in venezuela, perú, bolivia and cuba.

People died in his hands, yes, just like british soldiers and government people died in the hands of the continental army during the liberation of the colonies from an empire that deprived the colones from their freedom. And american people still like George Washington, don't they?

Che was so faithful to his socialist ideals that he even killed his own brother when he became a threat to the revolution as he started thinking of his own profit from it. Fidel Castro took advantage of Che Guevara, and killed him to take full control of the revolution, and that's how he became a dictator in cuba; Che wouldn't have permited a dictatorship, but a democracy.

The bad guy was Castro, but Che Guevara was a Visionary and an Idealist who died fighting for a fair cause.

Some people wear the shirts as a symbol of rebellion. Half the people who wear them probably don't know who he was. But they wear them because it's popular.
