What are the thing that doctors do to test if you have a yeast infection or not?

If you mean how do you go and get tested you simply make an appointment with your doctor, in which case they would take a vaginal swab and simply send it off to test the swab for yeast and call you while later with the results.
It's pretty quick and easy.

They have you lay down on the hospital bed, legs spread and they look with a flash light type of tool. Two things can be done. Examination of the specimen on a slide under a microscope and a culture of the specimen to detemine species of yeast.

It depends if the infection is just in your vagina, or if it systemic. If systemic I think they check your blood for antibodies or your stool for traces.
