Be a clown. Make jokes about everyone and everything, but not offensive... just enough to get a laugh. That way even the teachers whose classes you interrupt will still be cool with you. It does help to be on a team, I played football through HS and that worked out pretty well, but if you make people laugh you'll become more popular, guaranteed.

The fastest way to get yourself noticed at school is GET INVOLVED. Think about ways you can contribute your talents to different programs.
If you think you'd like to try your hand at acting, then audition for a school production. People will be forced to notice you when you take center stage.
Paint up at football and basketball games with a group of friends. This past year at my school's football state championship, my friends and I painted our face, made shirts, signs, and a huge flag. We ran around like crazy and got noticed by everyone. I think people were jealous because they could tell we were having a lot of fun. We even got noticed by the local news station. We were featured on TV that night. They still air a clip of my friends and I dancing around on the sidelines every time they mention our school's athletics in the news.
If you'd rather be the one making the field goals and scoring the 3-pointers, then try out for a sports team. My freshmen year I tried out for soccer on a whim. I had never played the sport in my life, but I thought it might be fun. I continued to play soccer all through high school and I became pretty good. If you think you might be interested in a sport, start early, so you have time to improve.
Maybe you are more artistic. Draw or paint an amazing piece and ask your school if you can display it somewhere prominent. You can even give it to your school as a gift. They will most likely feel very privileged and decide to display your painting for everyone to see. (Make sure you sign your signature large enough for people to read!) If you are after bigger game, then opt to paint a mural for your school. I would suggest asking permission first before doing that one.
Honestly, there are tons of activities to get involved in at school. School is what you make of it. You don't want to end up feeling like you could of done more when it's all over. Other than getting involved, try to make friends with some of the "popular kids." When I first came to my high school, I wasn't popular at all. I was pretty much a dork. I started to hang out with "cooler" kids my junior year and by my senior year I was in with the popular crowd, I guess you could say. It may take time, but try to be friendly with some people at your school that everyone knows.
Make a list of your talents, then see what things your school has to offer for you. If there doesn't seem to be any obvious options, then make your own. You might have to get creative, but that could work in your favor, because the more creative you are, the better your chances are of getting noticed.

Get in a fight an dbeat the person up. Do it @ lunch where everyone can see. If its a really good fight they will still be talking about it when you come back from being suspended

Be a man-whore cause then all the girls will want you and all the guys will want to be you...or just be funny and outgoing, but know when not to say something and know when to say something. Good Luck!

Be yourself, you shouldn't have to change your look or personality, just so others will like you. Be true to yourself, it's just high school, four years and it will be over before you know it.
