The pool is 16 feet in diameter and 3 feet deep right?
The volume of a cylinder is (pi x r^2) x height. A 16-foot circle has a radius of 8 feet.
8^2 * 3.14 * 3 = 602.88 cu. ft.
There are 7.481 U.S. gallons in a cubic foot of water.
602.88 * 7.481 = 4510.14528 gallons.
Thus, your pool can hold approximately 4500 gallons.

You need to know how deep it is first, otherwise it is a 2 dimensional question only, and you can't fill a pool with any gallons of water if no depth to it.

square the radius of the pool (8), and multiply it by pi (3.14). Then multiply this by the depth of the water. This gives you the # of square feet. There are 7.5 gallons in a square foot.

multiply radius x radius/8x8=64
multiply by pi// 64x 3.14=200.96 or (201)
multiply by three(depth) //201x 3=603
cubic foot of water is about 7.5 gallons
so you have about 4522.5 gallons in your pool
