It doesn't hurt hardly at all, so getting them done later wouldn't be an issue. I'd think dealing with the pain would be worse at that age than older because you don't understand what's going on, even if you do forget it later.
I've always kinda hated to see kids with their ears pierced as babies, because you know it was the mom who wanted it, no the kid. If she is actually asking for them, it's a little different, but still difficult to validate that she is making the choice for herself, because she cannot understand the implications. Still, I guess I've come to the decision that it's not a big deal. If you think you can handle taking care of them and you think she can handle the experience, then you should get her ears pierced. Be prepared for some backlash, but it's your choice. Some people feel piercing is a big deal, others don't. Kids have a lot worse done to them at young ages that is considered okay, so why not have some earrings?

Most people end up with pierced ears, so she might as well get it over with. After the initial pair (which should be nice enough not to irritate her ear), don't buy her anything expensive for a while.
I got mine done when I was 4 and loved it!
If she's already wearing clip-ons, clearly sshe really likes them and will wear the real ones.
Oh, make sure to have them both done at the same time, because my cousin had one ear pierced for like 3 years because she was afraid to do the other one.

A lot of doctors say that the younger you are when get your ears pierced, the better. It is because babies tend to heal faster and they won't remember it at all. You can soak the posts of your daughter's earrings in betadine before having the doctor puncture her ears, and from what I know, you can't take them off for a couple of weeks. Some babies even have circumcision done within the 1st 24hrs of birth and that is even a minor surgical procedure. So, I guess ear piercing at a young age is better 'cause there's less trauma and pain. I hope this helps.=D

Not at all. I got mine when i was about 9 months old and i know people who got them done even younger. Also, my little sister got hers done at 2 -- with a home peircing gun. But it WILL sting for a few seconds and she won't like them for a while. Make sure you do both ears even if she's crying from the first one (you know how kids are)

She's only 2 years old. I don't believe she understands the pain involved with getting her ears pierced at such a young age. People say she won't remember, but being 2 years old, you remember a lot of things (especially traumatizing ones!). I got my ears pierced at 2 years old and I still remember crying from the pain and the piercing-lady had to hold me down (once I saw the needle-looking thing)!! I say it should be up to you, not her. It's completely not necessary to get her ears pierced especially if she might play with it and tries to put other earrings in her ears without waiting for it to heal.

Not at all! I had mine pierced when I was a baby.I think it would be okay so then later on your 2 year old wont remember the pain, i have heard though that it kind of feels like shot that is a tiny bit more painful.
It is your choice to make as the responsible parent, but remeber that everyone makes mistakes.

No, it is not bad for your two year old to have her ears pierced. Just be sure you take her to the right place to have it done. Most medical clinics will pierce ears of any age child. Having this done at a clinic should also lessen the risk of infection.

i have seen two year old girls with peirced ears, i don't see any problem with that as long as you keep them in her ears for the 6 weeks and keep the holes clean with what would be given to you.

Actually you should. Because she's at an age where the pain (yes I won't lie, it will hurt) she'll experience won't be remembered when she gets older.
I was pierced at age one. I was told I cried cause it hurt but I don't remember.
Don't wait until your kid gets too old, because it'll be much more complicated. My parents waited until my sister turned 15, and her ear got infected and a bunch of complicated things happened.
But you have to know, it'll be your job to help her take care of it, seeing as how she's only 2.
