Unequivocally. Elementary and high school academic and social counseling should be mandatory. It is crucial that student's develop a positive sense of self, understand how important school is and make that connection to the working world after graduation. Our school system's are VERY outdated and what worked in the 50s and 60s are not working in the 21st century. Especially since this new generation learns differently than older ones. . .

I think this is a good idea. Not all students need help, but I think eventually, a nice talk with a counselor would be helpful. Counseling would have been very helpful for me.
However, keep in mind that the counselors would be overwhelmed with students- so, more counselors will be needed.

yes of course , kids don't always have someone at home to talk to, sometimes they like to talk to someone else apart form family and friends, its sooo important that their are counselors at school, its one of the most vital things if their is some sort of psychological or abusive situation going on it can be sorted out before it gets out of control, alot of teenagers these days are committing suicide, that's a big wake up call for governments to have every school provide professional counselling to troubled teens

i think there should be counselling because some children can't hold in their problems forever.if they had to tell their parents how they feel about them it might make them upset ot something.so thats why elementary schools and high schools should have student counsellings to share their feelings and their actions.

Did you mean to say "necessary"? The question would make sense if you had said "mandatory."
