I'm about to go to soccer practice, and I was wondering if you have any tips for me to get better. I'm gonna be trying out for the team at my highschool..what are some ways I can practice to get better? What does the coach look for?

Good for you...I hope you do well,
try not to complain...even if you are not the best or even good at all...never complain....be encouraging to your other team mates
listen to what the coach has to say...engage his/her every work about the sport. When doing drills do your best not to come in last...but if last is your best, never, never, never quit...always finish the drill unless the coach wants you to do something else.
run, run, run.....soccer is not a difficult sport but does require stamina....get yours up by running in addition to practice...stretch out well and just have fun cause that's what it is really about...running will give you a great advantage against even a seasoned player that is out of shape.

GOOD LUCK!!

Keep practicing, absorb all the help you coach gives you. You can't really give someone advice about soccer online, you really just need to get out there and play.

Sonja you have to buy a ball, and star to kick it all the time you can, try to use yours both legs, this is very important, also try to practice, long and short kicks, you should to learn to dominate the ball with your legs and head, look for a partner , finally try to run 30 minutes or more a day your stamina is very important
GOOD LUCK¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

Unfortunately, if it's your first year, you probably won't make the team. You have to be fast, coordinated, and be able to do all of the drills that they want you to do, without having to be explained how to do it. Sloloms, sprints, all kinds of drills that you probably aren't skilled enough to do.

1st of all, get and keep in shape...try kicking the ball against a wall both short and long, this helps in sending and recieving passes. strengthen your arm muscles to throw in the ball as well...
