About half-way through my pregnancy with my one and only daughter, everything began to stink. I mean EVERYTHING! Foods and drinks had an off-taste, toothpaste, shampoo, even outdoor air stunk. My girl is now 3 years old and most odors are back to normal except cola and lemon/lime drinks. They all taste/smell like disinfectant and urine. My doctor doesn't seem that concerned about it, but will this ever go away? Anyone else had this problem?

Your body chemistry changes slightly. Some perfumes you wore before you were pregnant might smell differently on you too.

Pregnancy will not permantly mess up your sense of smell. The change in sense of taste and smell in pregnancy is dictated by hormones.

The aversion to the smell of certain drinks must be due to something else.

Never heard of such a thing. Maybe the grocery store is wiping the cans or bottles with cleaner or something. You never know but it being pregnant won't damage your sense of smell for 3 years punkin that's something else.

Yes. It messes with you! It might go away, and it might not. I have heard of people who have a permanent change. Hopefully it will lessen, at least!
