Isn't a great deal of flatulent odor based on heredity?

Foods affect odor, consistency and makeup of your stool/flatulence.

Heredity determines how your body digests food and processes it. Some people may have a better constitution than others and therefore foods like broccoli, onions, beans and other starches and comples carbohydrates don't affect them as much. Others may find that one trip to the chinese buffet could cause them to let one loose that would strip the varnish off a foot locker. :)

Internal pills like bean-o, imodium and such, are enzymatic catalysts that are designed to help the body process foods so that gas production is less, and what is produced isn't as volitile.

And thank god because I couldn't give up chinese food for anything. :)

Similar enzymatic catalysts can be found in odor sprays like approach (www.approachit.net) and sometimes they can be taken in a drink. Either way, all they do is help your body process the food you eat, so that the food you eat can't cause as much odor as it wants.

Hope this helps
