I always sleep on my stomach.
but as far as the best way I really couldn't tell you...if it is the best way. This works for me.
I was told if you sleep on your tummy put a pillow under your tummy. However I don't i just sleep on my tummy.

on your left side. your pillow must not be flat and your shoulder should be just come off the edge of the pillow and both legs should be slightly bent with one in front of the other.
and get a really good mattress
