Why, when Neil Armstrong took mans first step on the moon didn't someone tell him that those clumpy shoes were awful? I mean ,if you're going somewhere nice, why not treat yerself to a pukka pair of footwear?
I bet NASA cringe when they see the tape of him in them shoes....nice pair of dessies would have been much more top gear.
Hopefully, when man lands on Mars, the astronaut will be 'with it'.

It's really not a surprise; did you see the clothes the engineers wore? They were so Beaver Cleaver! And those thick, black glasses, shirt pockets full of pencils and everybody with the same buzz up top; Houston, we have a fashion problem!!!

Next time, it's only going to work if we have a set of consultants: Queer Eye for the Astronaut Guy!

Enough of the all-white outer shell; what are we trying to say here? That we're boring? The New Crew will definitely have to spice things up. And more windows...definitely!

We'll get it right next time.

NASA had seriously considered giving Armstrong a pair of wing tips, but then someone pointed out that wings were not appropriate on an airless moon.

I hope he truly wore them on the moon. I have doubts a human being can go to the moon and come back alive without being in a huge lead box to protect from radiation.

Now come on, if he hadn't worn those, where would we have got moon boots from?
When I was at school, back in 1971, one lad, a right poser, used to wear a dark blue denim jacket with collar up, and cuffs rolled back, with furry blue angora jumper, and white fluffy oversized moon boots. NICE!!!!!

I would prefer to see them in swimwear as well. Wait...what about totally nude? That would be 'boldly going where no man has gone before'.
