Practice. Trace a lot, with things that have straight lines, circles, and odd shapes. Learn the perspectives. Draw what you see, not what you know. Take classes, get others advice. Use your imagination. Get a book that teaches the basics. Learn the basic techniques of strokes and textures, light and shadow. Learn about symmetry and asymmetry.

anyone can draw, some just have to try harder than others. drawing is a skill, like reading. you have to build it up. go to the library and get some drawing books. those can be very helpful. also, sign up for a class, they can teach you so much. and just keep practicing! if you really want this, it can be done. regardless of wether your parents ever had to practice or not. good luck.

The keys to drawing are: A solid expressive line and good sense of proportions.
The solid line bit you get by getting control of your hand muscles, tracing helps a lot and it also gives you an idea of the proportions but in order to get a good sense of proportions, the only way is by practicing with real objects.
Then you will be able to add your own style and expression.

Look at pictures, 3D objects, etc. and start by trying to draw them. Start simple, study art and artists you admire. Your own style will eventually develop as you improve. Draw every day, even if it's no good. Don't expect instant results and don't get discouraged. Consistency and practice will make you better. If you want it bad enough and work hard, you can do it.

Time and practice, try to draw everything, a coin, a bag, a glass, a face, all that you can, try to do at least five sketches in a day, in a few months you can draw almost anything, if you try hard you can become in a superb artist

Art school? You have to practice A LOT. Some people just aren't meant to draw though.

Just keep on practicing and you should get better.

My professor has continually pronounced that all of us can learn how to charm to. In his drawing training, the scholars who might desire to somewhat draw actually stepped forward lots throughout the semester, whether they weren't generating incredible and thoroughly pleasing drawings. you will possibly desire to be diligent and prepare, prepare, prepare. I do have confidence that some persons are born with a flair for drawing, and it comes clearly, and there are some issues which will no longer be able to be discovered, yet that does no longer propose you will no longer be able to draw. you will possibly desire to discover a fashion of drawing that brings you the suitable fulfillment, and discover your strengths.

You've got a lot of really good suggestions but the best one:

Relax and enjoy drawing. If you feel that you can do it, surely you will do it.
Just a pencil, simple photos or images as models, lots of papers, your favourite music and HAVE FUN. Don't worry about the result, it's going to be a MASTERPIECE
