We are living because that's the way the universe works. Life is a by-product of how the universe came about. As for meaning, it's up to you how to define your own life for yourself. There is no inherent meaning in life, just subjective experience.

We are living because we have to. We can either live or die. Those of us who live are simply doing so because it is the only option open to us other than death. Anyone you ask this question to is living for that reason. Reasons other than that are purely philosophical.

Maybe we aren't living. Maybe we are dead waiting to be born and "Earth" is just a clever rouse to keep us entertained. Haha I'm just kidding. Life is what you make of it. There's no drawn out map or guidelines, it's simply "there". Do as you please.
