i have toshiba laptop with built in wireless adapter ...so just wondering how can i increase its signal receiving from a wireless router. do i need to attach any other device for it ????

If you have your computer near other electronics (i.e. printer, phone, etc.), that could affect your signal strength. There should be at least a clear eight inches between the receiver and the next electronic device, preferably more. If it is not near any other electronics, then you might check the wireless router for the same problem.

If you own the router, you can get high gain antennas that add to the output signal strength to solve the problem.

you may be able to add an external antennae to your router or laptop, which should boost the signal strength. otherwise, move the router and avoid signal interferance from cell phones/ cordless phones.
