I have a UV reading at 278nm and 300nm. At 300nm I have a negative value. What does that mean?

It probably means that your blank absorbs more at that wavelength than your sample does.

Either you're off the UV meter scale or something thats absorbing the 300nm frequency

it means.. you have something absorbing the 300nm .. but you have a source of 278nm
