It depends on length and quality of recording. I like Juggling Suns, New Monson, AOD, and Robert Randolph, so mine only holds 100 songs...

As a rule, 30 songs per 128 MB of space.

So, 1G will hold, AArrrrrggghh my brain sucks, um lets see 240 mp3's. Assuming each mp3 is about three to four minutes long. Supposedly you can fit more wma's than mp3's...something like double, but I haven't found that to be necessarily true.

Depends on the compression ration (bit rate) or compression type you chooses AAC is much better than MP3. but with compressions at between 128 and 192 kb/s you can fit either 400 at low 128kb or 180 at high 192kb

although most are specified at 160kb/s and that gives 240 to 250 again depending on how long the songs are!

Depends on the ripping bitrate set the best bitrate is 128kbs because you virtually loose none of the original quality of the song and it is a standar mesure that allows you to hold the most songs, around 200 (can be more or less)

About 220-250 songs. That's how much my 1 GB iPod Nano holds.

Okay, one gigabyte equals 1024 megabytes so if your songs were a bout 6 megabytes each[example] you'd have about 170 songs to put on. If you need to average it out just do this.
Take 1024divided by whatever number of megabytes the song is and round up the qoutient if it is a decimal.

well an mp3 player with 1 GB capacity can hold near about 292 songs(Approx.).................dat means 292 songs with .mp3 extention. However 1 GB space is also occupied by 33 (approx.) songs if they are in .wav format n the nos. of songs increases upto 1024 songs if they are more compressed.........cuterelations
