Classical conditioning has to do with Pavlov experiment on the dog and Skinner approach on whats "learning", if we define learning by a reaction, then animals can learn.
Learning goes beyond a stimuli and response, is something about the conscience and the soul, is about adaptation and creativity. If you go to a zoo you can see monkeys and other animals reacting for food or liquids, thats not learning, thats a form to adapt or a form to survive that has to do with genes.
Learning needs an enviornment, needs a spirit that wants to learn, requires fee will -I want to learn this I dont want to learn that-, many times we learn things we dont plan to learn or we dont wish but we do it anyway, is a valuable experience.
Learning means to understand, people can understand with their brain and their logic, they can do deductive and inductive processes, learning is not about repetition without knowing or understanding the causes, the roots of the phenomena or situation.
The olc classical learning was about rewards and punishments, like in some animals inside a circus, if they do something, they recieve a reward, if they dont they dont recieve it...Humans dont need to learn to get something like a reward, because the best reward is understanding, knowing more and applying that knowledge to help others. It is sad how some teachers or parents do limit the concept of learning to physical or emotional rewards, that is a very poor concept.
I remember one quote Dr. Einstein used to say: "I prefer to be punished than to have to learn something I dont understand".
