i had one of them pierced ages ago but took it out. am not pregnant or due for a period but they are soo senstive in a painful way...

Perhaps they are sun burnt!
Mine get sore when I am due for a period this can be up to 2 weeks before it comes too.

I would take a guess and say that if you had a sharp metal object make a hole in your nipple....it might be a place to start looking for your answer.
Also...if you're having a lot of rough sex, tell the dude to quit biting/pinching them.

Do you drink a lot of caffeine? Try cutting back. This includes green tea, black tea and chocolate, as well as coffee.
If you have any kind of discharge, go see your doctor immediately. Also if it only hurts on one side, go see your doctor. Go to http://www.mammacare.com/ to learn how to do a breast self-exam to test for breast cancer.
