Judaism teaches survival, especially since the total destruction of the Jews of Europe by Hitler. For the people of Israel, the Jewish Holocaust of World War 2 never ended. It is ever present, it is their reason for existence, and they see any threat as, potentially, another holocaust.
Look at it as a kind of functional paranoia. Don't mess with them. Don't kidnap their soldiers, don't bomb their cities, don't launch rocket attacks against their towns. Don't give them a reason to retaliate, because they view massive, disproportionate retaliation as the best way to protect themselves, and Jews worldwide.

The "Israelites/Israelis" are (and have always been) a very confused bunch. The teachings of the Holy book (without which Israel indeed does not exist), which most of the zealous Israelis do not even depend upon and never did, alleges all you stated. And since Israel's claim to their current territory is man's laws, I strongly believe it is time they start heading toward Ur, the home of their father Abraham.
Although a bible Christian, I still do not comprehend why the Almighty One, very aware of the territorial nature of humankind, would opt to displace one people just to make room for another, and at a time when more than half of the earth was uninhabited! Anyway, Israel had very specific instructions, then, for possession, which they never followed. By the way, the God of the Holy book disinherited Israel - thus, the teachings of the New Testament.
Sadly, I understood Arafat, and understand the Palestinians bent on obliterating the Israelis and find Israel's supporters archenemies. It is Palestinian land! Israelis forfeited all rights when they refused to follow the Holy book's specific instructions for possession. Let Israel move to Ur! The Israelis should be heading to wherever Ur is currently.

Some Jews are descendants of the Old Testament Jews, who were considered the "chosen people" because they kept the true religion. Christ changed all that, with the New Covenant--now, all are called to be holy (but few are chosen) and attain heaven. Judaism is a defunct religion...
But, regarding "Israel", that parasitic state is ruled by Zionists, whose goal is to dominate the Middle East, with the help of the U.S.--many of the Zionists are actually Khazar "Jews", who are not truly Jewish, but are descended from fierce, warring tribes, who lived mostly in the area north of Turkey. They are an ungodly bunch, who don't mind murdering, torturing, and otherwise lording it over their subjects. See: "The Thirteenth Tribe", a book by Arthur Koestler.

Unfortunately they are gods people and they are the chosen people. Sorry if that makes you jealous or think its unfair but thats the way it is so just accept it. And if you dont accept it then you will never understand what really is happening in the middle east.
Second they have been fighting with each other for a long time. So you cant just point the finger at Israel for these attacks they both brought this onto themselves.

I guess they do believe it, but this is not the issue here, what I want to tell you and the others is that Arabs (Palestinians mostly) are in war with Israel everyday since 1967 , everyday people die, or a house is blown or a child is shot but nobody even cared to know why??? because it is all happening in Palestine, on their land only, but this is the very first time Israel tastes the bitterness of war, when they are bombed inside their land, now they know how to be deprived of the right to move around, while Palestinians lived in curfews for long and long months, nobody cared to stop it.

i know its really annoying...especially when we have family members there... They are trying to get Hezbollah out of Lebanon, but all they are doing is killing all the innocent people and destroying Lebanon...(To think that i was going to go there this summer...if i ended up going i could have been killed) Its unfair for all of the innocent people.
Also many Americans that go to visit Lebanon are really scared right now and there is no way they can get out unless they walk miles and miles into Syria.
Yes some Jews arent violent and there is nothing wrong with all of the innocent people in Israel, but there is something wrong with the people that are bombing Lebanon. (i have nothing against Jews that are innocent)
but every religion has some bad and some good people.
like that person Thomas said "They're not bad, neither are they good. "

You are a prime example of what is wrong with most people these days... everyone else has a right to exist in peace except for Israel, right? Your arguements are pathetic and incomplete.
This "war" started in 1948 because all Arabs hate Jews. Iran has stated that Israel should be wiped out of existence. Wake up!

I can tell by your response that your question was not a true question, but a statement hoping to sway people to your anti-semitic beliefs.
The truth of the matter is they have as much right to that land as you do to your property. You wouldn't be living in your house/apartment/or (more likely) trailer if we hadn't invaded Native American land, fought them and kicked them off of it. And they have as much right to defend their land as I am sure you feel you do for yours.
I do believe they are doing the right thing. They are not targeting Lebonese civilians, but the truth is civilians are getting caught. That cannot and should not deter them from acting in the most precise and immediate way possible against the instigators of this fight. The Israelis did not cross into Lebanon and kidnap Hizbollah soldiers. If they do not take a hard stance against kidnap for ransom now, which they didn't before, they will have to deal with it again in the future, as they are now.
DO NOT forget, they are fighting the very same people who would like nothing better than to destroy our way of life, and have us infidels living the life according to their beliefs. They are our allies, and we should back them 100%.

Hi,
Yes how awful that they retaliate but how much more awful the aggressors, and wait a moment, doesn't there religion also teach peace, though you might be for forgiven for thinking that not to be the case. And they live with the experience that where they do not retaliate so fiercely the aggressors view this as a sign of weakness and step up their attacks. It is hard to see what other option they have. "Oh, what a nasty man!" I here you cry, "All I did was beat him with a stick and he had the audacity to get a bigger one and hit me back, so unfair!"

Lebanon, and Hizbullah, deserve every bit of punishment being meted out to them right now by the Israelis. Finally, they are really standing up to the most destabilizing force in the Middle East, next to Iran itself.
War is hell, isn't it? But, that's what the Arabs are always screaming about, jihad, holy war, against the Jews. Well, they got their wish, didn't they?
In all of history, I cannot think of a more self-destructive civilization then the Arabs. Shiites against Sunnis, Muslim Arabs against Christian Arabs, Arabs fighting the whole world, one suicide bomber and one Katuysha rocket at a time. Instead of building, instead of moving forward, always stuck in the past, always stuck in their fundamentalist, primitive, barbaric ways, always destroying.
How pathetic they are.
