gas is gas. but companies put different chemicals that make it better quality.know your car first. Chevron is recommend fuel for general motors toyota and honda.this doesnt mean you cant pump gas here. also keep in mind that if your carrying a small engine under the hood use unleaded. supreme/super/premium unleaded can be to much octane for your car and you will feel the car as if its having mechanical problems.also premium is filtered more and has more octane in it. usually around 93,med has 89.

Most gasoline travels (in my part of the US) via pipeline. It is stored in a central location. All the tankers in the area draw gasoline from that location. Different additive packages are added by the different distributors. These additives dissolve in the tanker and give the different brands their unique "flavor". Chevron has an additive package that includes techron. Shell has their own as does BP, etc. Some, like Entec, have a filtration process.

As for the octane rating (premium, med, low), it does not matter on most cars. There are some high end cars in which the manfacturer recommends a higher grade. Check you manual to be sure. If you're driving the the average Toyota, Honda, Chevy, Ford, etc., it will not make any difference.

Pretty much all the same except name. They all have to have the same standard when making it. Premium is a little better than regular just because of the octane rating. But with prices above $3. for reg I don't see it being that much better right now.

Gas is gas.

Octane ratings are for engine specific requirements for detonation elimination.

Unless you are driving a performance car with a high compression engine, use Regular.
