One year? And how much are we talking, a mill, ten, fifty? The truth is even with Barclays, now offering 10% for a year, you have to deduct income tax on the interest, leaving you effectively with 8%. Balance this with a rise in inflation of some 3 or 4% in the year, and you've made 4 or 5%. Not exactly a fortune. Do you have any outstanding credit, at all? If you have a credit card on which you are paying just 10%, and your savings are only making 5%, it's easy to see that you should be getting yourself absolutely debt-free first.

I keep telling people this in this thread and everyone thinks it's a con but it isnt.
If you have £3,000 in a high interest account it will make you about £150 by the end of the year.
4% is a joke.
I paid for a Maxnet subscription in January at £1,195 set up a trading bank with my £3,000 and to date I have made £1,645 and there are still 6 months left this year. My subscription cost is covered and I am in profit by more than the interest would be.
I expect that my total cost of £4,195 will make me a clear profit of at least £3,000 this year. AND ITS TAX FREE
