Once he is dictator for life, we won't need to be elected to any more terms.

Besides, if the President does it, it can't be illegal, right?

I suspect that George W will declare martial law based on a terrorist threat level. Of course elections could not proceed and he could make this declaration until he is significantly seated as a dictator.

Since I didn't vote for Bush in either election, I totally disagree with his "doing such a heck of a job". I think our economy is in dire straits since Bush has been in office especially the Iraq conflict against terrorism that seems to have no end in sight while our troops are being slaughtered on foreign soil. And, if that's not bad enough, we now have problems with North Korea. Where does it stop? Gasoline prices are the highest and continue to climb with no ceiling in sight and so will probably continue to rise! So, if everything is so great and wonderful with Bush in office, then why is America having all these issues? So, as far as making "Bush dictator for life" is concerned, you've got to be kidding (hehehehehehehehehehe)! That's laughable and just plain insane! I shutter to think what would happen to America if Bush was made "dictator for life". Horrors!!!!!!!!

Why would you say that out lout?! BTW, I'm pretty sure that's a side note in Constitutional Amendment to Discriminate against Gays (I mean "protect" marriage). It's going to read "Marriage will be defined, for no reason whatsover, as a union between a Man and a Woman*" Then if you look at the bottom it will say "*George W. Bush will be dictator the United States for Life." This is in Congress right now, so if you're upset about it, make sure you write a strongly worded letter to your conservative congressman (because the democratic ones can't actually do anything about it right now).

The Twenty-second Amendment of the United States Constitution sets a term limit for the President of the United States, providing that "No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once." Prior to the adoption of the amendment, the constitution set no limit on the number of presidential terms. The United States Congress proposed the amendment on March 21, 1947. It was ratified by the requisite number of states on February 27, 1951.

I do think that in many ways he is doing a good job but your question is making a leap that I don't think Evil Knievel could have made. I have never heard anyone suggesting that any president be made a dictator. In fact the closet thing to what you are saying that has actually happened would be FDR serving four terms.

If that ever happens then its not call home of the free anymore would it. the reason why there is a two term limit is to keep people from becoming dictators and to keep it fair and equal so the country is run for the people by the people. God Bless America and the price we pay for freedom.

Requires a constitutional ammendment to repeal the previous ammendment which limits the president to only 2 terms. His popularity is so low right now, that proposed ammendment would probably not even make it past the House and the Senate to get to the states for ratification.

I would love to have him for another 8 years. . .I don't want anyone as "dict for life". However, for the most part, I think he is handling things better than whoever might get elected next.
I think that 16 years might be needed to correct the mess Clinton made in 8....

Because, unlike Democrats, conservatives actually believe in following the Constitution.

This is without a doubt one of the most retarded questions I've read on yahoo!answers. At least with other loaded liberal questions they can hide their ignorance and hate by asking something that pretends to be thought-provoking.
