Too hard to know. The current ownership is having money problems, so the Cubs could be sold within a couple of years.
There's luck involved. If Pryor and Wood had stayed healthy, and they had gotten one more hitter, the Cubs could have won. With the way the Free Agent market is, and a couple of lucky drafts, the Cubs could be world champs in a few years. Don't believe me? Look at the Florida Marlins - the owner bought all these free agents - they won the world series - he then held a fire sale - few years later, new owner bought bunch more free agents - they won the World Series.
With Free Agency, any team can go from crap to champions - just ask the White Sox

I am a diehard Cubs fan for the past 34 years. There is no such thing as a curse, Bartman did not cause us to lose in 03, the only wrong with the Cubs is Jim Hendry, he needs to get fired!! I am seeing history repeat itself, the tigers are kicking some butt this year and the Red Sox are doing much better as well in the early 1900's the Cubs and Tigers pretty much ruled baseball, 07 and 08 had back to back world Series Cubs v Tigers!! they will do it next year!! I have faith in my Cubbies!!

Cubs can not win until Bartman is found, dragged back to Chicago and sacrificed to Ivy in the outfield. At this point, the wall will take a few years to digest Bartman's soul and at the appropriate time will spit him back out and the Cubs will win the World Series. I excpect Bartman to be found by a bounty hunter and dragged back to Chicago for this purpose in 28 years. The Cubs will win the WS in 2037.

Okay, let me put it this way, I don't believe in cruses...the Billy Goat or The Cruse of The Babe...The Red Sox had a so-called lifetime cruse on them too...and what happened...oh...my...they win the World Series in 2004...so saying that...I believe the Cubs will win the World Series at least once in the next 15 years...they have talent...they do.

NOT IN OUR LIFETIME. They have a legitimate curse. They can't keep anybody healthy. Wood and Prior are so good its ridiculous, but they can't stay healthy for a month much less a year. They should have traded Wood a couple of years ago when they could have gotten some value for him, and they need to think about doing the same thing with Prior right now before its too late.
NOT IN THE NEXT 50 YEARS
