When you are stuck at an altitude of 30,000 ft and you have to serve some jackass people, I have to have respect for them peoples. I have friends who are F/A's in a smaller airline and they are all great people. Whatever you want to do, go for it. It is not only a female position either so brave your way and take advantage of the benefits like flying everywhere in the world and getting paid for it!

Not bad work if you can do it. I had an aunt who was a flight attendant and it does pay well, and you get lots of free travel.

It can suck for folks with families and spouses...and essentially you *are* getting paid to look good for the airline so yes, part of the job is about being young, perky, and fitting in the uniform.

Still...it may well be one of the few jobs left in America that doesn't *completely* suck....so shh! Don't tell anyone, ok? *lol* We can't have the CEOs and the Media and the Politicians ruining this one too....

Oh wait, they already did, courtesy of that bin Laden family of theirs, and others of their ilk. Never mind, d'ohhhh..... :">

It's a job I certainly would not want!!! Flight Attendants often must be at least bi-lingual. They must have training in CPR and First Aid (including infant CPR). They must maintain a certain weight to perform their job. On top of that, these days they have to be able to spot possible signs of terrorism, drug trafficking, prostitution, child abuse, etc. They actually can have a pretty tough job.

It is a job that is hard to do. You have many hours away from the family, and you have to deal with jerks. But at times it can be rewarding. Flying for free, meeting thousands of people, and you get to see the country.

Seems like a tough job, serving people on a plane. Passengers can get very crabby. That said, I appreciate when they are in a good mood-- it can make my travel much more fun.

That it would suck having to put up with annoying people and basically being an airline waiter/waitress.
