Hugo Chavez of Venezeula. He always complains about US and says how US is greedy or what not, complains constnatly about Bush, believes that americans tried assisinating him a few times, when Columbian pro-american (I know god forbid there neighbors like america) candidate was elected chavez lined troops up on the border threatening an attack, and he says and does all these things while his own people are living in poverty. Also he is friends with Fidel Castro and you know how well he treats everyone.

NORMAN M, NO ONE sees Fidel as a threat. But it would be pretty wrong and hypocritical of us to give him $$ while his own people suffer in poverty.

As someone that has traveled to Venezuela and seen the great things Chavez has done for the people of his country I wholeheartedly agree with Dd's comments(above me). He has hit it on the head. But I'm sure the idiot that asked the question wont see it that way and vote it best answer. To the asker...Stop watching Fox news and learn to make an educated, well rounded observation especially about a country who's citizens love and feel for the first time that they have a leader that knows the true mechanics of democracy that can provide a future with hope....unlike the citizens of this great nation.

The USA has lost it's credibility, and is losing it's stranglehold on the rest of the world.
Hugo Chavez is a clear example of what can be achieved when countries disregard their orders from Washington:-
Over 17 million people now have access to free health care and medicines for the first time.
Over 1 million people taught to read and write.
Participation encouraged for all Venezuelans in the formation, implementation, and operation of their democracy.
Venezuela has become truly, of the people, by the people and for the people, after years of US intervention and suppression.

But of course the people in power in the USA have labelled Chavez a terrorist, communist, dictator, etc. etc.

Around the world, whenever an alternative political systems have emerged they have been brutally crushed, or isolated by our ruling elites for what they call "the threat of a good example"

There is at last hope for us all, a chance to end inequality, and injustice. :)

I may not like him but he is part of the tide of elected leaders who is standing up against Bush the words bigest bully. The USA is responsible for poverty in Cuba, Does anyone in the USA really think that Castro is a threat'
de Klerk was a great politician and statesman he saw the fall of Communism and released Mandela as the communist threat no longer existed in South Africa.

Mandela is the worlds greatest living statesman not through aggression but through diplomacy that worked.

You may not know that he was jailed for being a communist (this action was supported by the USA government) and for planting bombs in public paces, MAKES YOU THINK!!!!!!!

I cannot help but think that Hugo Chavez will soon declare himself Presidente for life, like his idol, the scumbag Castro. As for the Venezuelan people, I think they have chosen the path of marxist hell, and the US should do nothing to ease that responsibility from their shoulders. Let 'em suffer the consequences of their choices. Not one drop of US blood, not one penny of US treasure to help them. May God have mercy on them, because Chavez won't.

I personally don't like him. I undesrtand where his coming from but I don't think he is making the rright desicions for his country. In this time of era, governments are force to work in a maquiavelic way. I feel that Chavez is fighting for an idealism rather than to fix a sad reality.

Chavez is an opportunist who is taking advantage of the high price of oil to buy support from the poor in Latin America and regional governments that frankly are open to be bought. Take the price of oil back to reasonable levels and this guy is toast.

SEE when oil prices rise ,american oil is refined and sold at world prices creating huge profits for american oil farmers.IT would be like a wheat shortage and america raising the price based on world wheat prices.lol we are so stupid in america it is stagering .
