When filing your divorce yourself, which an what papers do you file an in what order?

Me an my ex are doing our divorce ourselves an have the papers all done, we have filed the divorce petition and the waiver, and gave a court date but what about all the other papers, the marriage settlement, child custody papers, child support papers, the papers that show our legal residence, and of course the decree itself. In what order do file all these. I asked the court house an they can't give out advice, so I'm turning to you....please help!!! Thanx

I live in California and my ex and I did our own divorce. We filed all of the papers (petition, answer, etc.) including the judgement with special orders which summarize the obligations under the Marital Settlement Agreement) at the same time. This was done in Contra Costa county.

I did it myself. you need to hire a paralegal at least or just have a consultation with a lawer. you don't need to hire him but he can give you details. I went with a paralegal. It cost me about 250.00 and I was done with it that also included all of the servings

File them in any order and then set them on FIRE! Marriage is not a doll's game that you should play and break it anytime!

Call your local city clerk of court office, domestic, they will tell you I'm sure..
