Here is the situation. Period in June was on the 13th. On birth control pills however sometimes forget nights, and double up the next day. No condoms during sex too. Cycle is usually every 27-28 days, am usually a few days early each month. In July I had mild cramping on July 10, usually an indication that I am going to get it within a few hours. Horrible headaches and eruption of acne. Started to spot on July 12 (Day 29) regular period usually last a good 4 days. This time is started out light and then got a bit heavier for a day and it was done by July 14. Still very headachy and somewhat nauseated. No sore breasts or anything like that but just a tired, weird feeling. I am due to start a new pack of pills today and am not sure what to do. What do you think all this sounds like? Thanks for your input.
BTW, am 24 years old.

Im 24 and I missed 2 pills in a row and got pregnant with my first child. He's 2 now. Im 4 months pregnant with my second. You aren't suppose to take the pill if you think you may be pregnant, so stop taking it for the next week. BECAUSE, a pregnancy test will not always show the right answer if it is less than 2 weeks since conception. Remember, some people spot every month during their pregnancy, some people have every symptom in the book, and others won't have any at all. If you are comfortable with your OB/GYN, go get a blood test. It doesn't take long and its THE MOST accurate you can get at any number of weeks. To me, it sounds like you are.

Sounds like your hormones are a little bit off - I'm not sure if you are pregnant, but it seems to me you might have had some sort of a breakthrough bleeding from not using the pills properly. What you can do is take a home pregnancy test now just to be sure that you are not pregnant before you start your next pack of birth control pills. Then you go from there - depending on what the result of the test says. If it is negative then you can start on your pack, if it is positive, then make an appointment to see your doctor.

Pills are not very effective when not used the right way (i.e. not missing a dose or taking it at the same time everyday). If you think that you are constantly missing a dosage, or constantly forgetting to take it the right time, then make sure you use an extra form of protection, such as condoms, so you don't get pregnant. Or maybe what you need is a different kind of birth control (such as the Nuvaring, or the Patch - there are a lot of other options when it comes to birth control, knowing which one works best for you will ensure that you don't end up in an unplanned pregnancy, so discuss your options with your doctor). I got pregnant while I was on birth control pills, I missed one dose, and I even waited until I had taken the next pack before having any sex, and yet I got pregnant. Soyou never know. I had been using the Nuvaring and didn't have any problems, nor did I get pregnant (hubby and I weren't ready for the next one yet). Now I'm off it because we're going to try to get pregnant again.

Anyway, check first to make sure you're not pregnant, then check out what your other options for birth control are.

Goodluck!

Well if you don't take your birth control pill everyday, it pretty much renders it ineffective. Doubling up the next day doesn't help.
If you think you're pregnant, and don't want to keep taking your pills, get a pregnancy test and find out for sure. If you are pregnant, it should be late enough for a pregnancy test to come back positive. Just because your period was shorter than normal doesn't mean you got pregnant.

It's hard to tell because if you skip your daily pills and just double up you should use condoms, there's always a possibility of getting pregnant. Go to the doctor or just take the home pregnancy test. It's really hard to tell because you did have your period, at this point it might be psychological. Take the test!

Sounds like you could be pregnant. Have you taken any HPT?

Wait a few more days and then go to the doctors for a blood test.

(Same situation here but no pils, making my appointment for today)

I would hold off on the pills. If you are pregnant they can't be good for the baby!

Congrats if you are!

Just take a pregnancy test to make sure you're not pregnant, and then start your new pack of pills. If you miss your next period, then test again and call your doctor.

i use to be on the pill and had done the same exact thing...Something similar happened to be but it turned out I was not pregnant. Just in case though I would go out and buy one of those tests. I also use to try and keeps my pills with a water bottle right next to my bed, so that I wouldn't forget....good luck

Sounds like something is going on, although whether it is pregnancy or something else it is hard to tell. Go see your doctor before you start your next pack of pills just to be sure.

The only thing wrong with you is your cycle is off due to you missing pills and doubling up later. Set an alarm to help you remember.
