This is exactly why I'm not a Bush supporter... all Bush believes in is increasing government control. If it infringes on our constitutional rights (i.e.- freedom of speech, expression) like having the government control the media and spy on US citizens, so be it. He has no problem making up the rules to serve his purposes... that's a dangerous mentality to have since he's supposed to be a representative of the people.

NO. Government control of the media should never happen. the media should clean themselves up. It is a very liberal media. With that said, the media should be removed from any and all war zones to protect them. This would also give our brave young men and women the chance to fight and defend themselves while not having to worry about how the battle will be portrayed in the news tomorrow.

Nothing functions better with more government control. Eventually, the left will understand that. The media would function better with more honesty.

I am a Bush supporter, and I say no. A small government controlled by the people is best.

However, if the media is risking national security, then it should be in their best interest and ethics to hold a story until it is declassified.

Don't know why this question is aimed at Bush supporters...

Sure...it would function as well as tunnel construction projects in Massachusetts...

I, for one, would love to see media outlets suffer penalties for printing outright lies, but once government (GOP or DEM) gets a toe in the door of something like that, then all pretense of freedom of speech evaporates. Nope. Let them print half-truths, lies, propaganda, what-have-you. It may be bad, but it's better than not having a voice at all.

Is this question a joke?

The Government couldn't possibly have any more control then they already have.

The news media could and would function a lot better with no control our sensorship. This is supposed to be one of our constitutional rights. Called......freedom of speech.

the news media would function better if there were REAL journalists reporting news we all actually NEEDED to know. No one needs to know what race of baby angelina jolie is adopting. No one needs to know that Paris Hilton made a sex video. I want to know the REAL reason why gas is so high. how can i convert my car to run on biodiesel? How did a RETARD weasel his way into the white house TWICE? the news should be about helping people. Period. Not about gossip, brain-dead celebrities or other trivial bullshit that no one should care about.

No , they do a bad enough job as it is. Have you heard anything else about the train bombing in India? No, because Israel is taking up all the news. Also that would give the liberals (Who control media anyway) more crap to whine about.
