We're planning for next summer. What places have you been to or heard about that you'd recommend for a summer family vacation (other than Disney)?
As a less important question, has anyone heard of Smuggler's Notch or Tyler Resort?

Take a trip to San Diego. There is Sea World, the world famous San Diego Zoo, and the Wild Animal Park. Plus there are beaches and swimming in the ocean. You could even take in a baseball game at Petco Park.

An idea for a family vaccation like yours: Wisconsin Dells. It's in Wisconsin and it's the Water park capital of america. there are tons of waterparks, amusement parks, museums, boat cruises, resorts, and things to do. it's much better than disney world.

There's a State Park right on Virginia Beach in Norfolk, VA. They actually let you camp right next to the beach! It's an awesome time! My family went when I was about 14 and I still loved it!

I would check out Universal Studios. We took my 4-year-old cousin there and she had a blast! Plus kids eat and stay free!
