Yes it is. You should go and get a yearly checkup and talk to your doctor about the different methods of birth control. I'm not sure how old you are but if you are younger and don't want your parents to find out you can go to your county health department and get a free exam and free birth control.

Yes, it is necessary. Most of the time they will ask you which tests you would like them to perform. I would have all of them done (the pap, and STD test, breast exam) They are quick and take no longer to do than just getting the pap.
