Massage therapy really helped me with this. I know it can be expensive, so go to your local massage school clinic. Let them know you are pregnant when you make the appointment and they will accommodate. It is much less expensive (usually $25 for an hour) and there are instructors present to help out

Im 18 weeks and I have a 2 year old.......walking makes it worse. Sometimes when I have it its heartburn and I eat 2 or 3 Tums and it eases off a little. Other times, I can lay on my side with a pillow between my knees and my knees pulled up a bit (almost like a sitting angle) and it will help. Are you drinking enough water? If you don't, you tend to have more aches.

Nope, my wife had them starting even earlier than you, and they went right through to the end (2.5 weeks ago). Asked the Dr repeatedly if there was anything good she could do, and the answer was always no. The only relief she was able to get was to have the baby. Its probably just your ligaments stretching out to accomodate the new baby forming in there anyway.

oooh. I feel your pain. She must have herhead, feet or butt pushed right up in your ribs. The only way I could ease that pain was to lay down, or massage and try to move tha baby. Even spread my legs, and bend over as far as i could to have gravity help me out a bit. Hang in there. Have you tried swimming? Maybe that could help. Try rolling over and over as you swim to maybe help baby change positions. Swimming was always such a great pressure relief for me. I hope this helps.

Sorry not sure that anything will help. That little baby is putting pressure on your ribs outwards...it's not muscle or anything like that it is simply stretching your rib cage...yet it does hurt but just take some deep breaths.

Doc told me it was normal and I had to put up with it. It was really bad during my second pregnancy, and later I found out he was breech.
