I haven't read it but it has been a while since I was a teenager.

You should look at all self-help books with a sceptical eye. You generally learn from experiences whether it be yours or other people. Learning from the life experience of someone who has made mistakes and faced problems but overcome them is far more valuable in my opinion than reading the views of someone who claims to have never made a mistake.

I'm a little too old for that one but I did read "7 Habits Of Highly Effective Managers". Not a bad book, but it wasn't completely my style.

Look at it this way: the writer is suggesting what he thinks you could do to improve you life. It's merely his opinion, just as this is mine. It's not a law and you don't have to obey it. Take the good and leave the bad...that's what I did. :o)

My Dad lived by the Bible. We had arguments over Creation and Evolution. I told him. "Life is learning, we make mistakes, and learn. You don't need a Book to live by."
Dad said, "Every question about life is answered in the Bible."

Dad died this year. When he arrived at the pearly gate to heaven in white shoes and a white tuxedo.
Dad, "Here I am ready to enter. I lived a good moral life by the Bible."
Gate master: "Hmm, here you are sir. Hmm. Footnotes here. Do you remember the debates on evolution with your son?"
Dad, "Sure! I was right wasn't I?"
Gate master, "Hmm, sir, your son was more right, and he is going to hell."
