I am going to be travleing to Mazatlan in soon, how much money should we bring?

If you're talking about how much money should you plan on having available for expenses, etc., then that depends totally upon how you plan to travel, what you plan to do, where you plan to take lodging, how much you're going to spend for food, what kind of mementos you might buy, etc, etc, etc. The peso-dollar exchange right now is ten pesos to the dollar. A family of four can live comfortably in Mexico for 500 dollars a month, including eating out, going to movies, and such. That's equivalent to 5,000 pesos a month. Unless you speak the language, you will spend two to three times that amount easily. If you're going to stay in American hotels, or luxury hotels, figure on fifty to a hundred bucks a night. The room may come with food and it may not. You'll have to verify that when you ask about the rooms. Eating at the "nicer" restaurants can be costly, but in Mazatlan I don't think there are going to be many of them. If you're willing to take less than a luxury-class hotel and eat in the mom and pop restaurants, you could get by on probably fifty dollars a day. I haven't been there for many years and can't give you any specifics, which is why I'm being so general here. Whatever, don't carry much cash and don't have any stored away in your luggage or in your room. Either use a credit card and make withdrawals every few days or take traveler's checks. And, if they amount to much, ask the hotel manager or owner to lock up any you don't need to carry.
