By keeping them secret. Tell no one, write nothing down, not even in a diary and make sure that there is no way you can be connected to the 'deed'. However, it can cause you problems in the long run and you may need therapy as you grow older especially if the secret is of a personal nature. Try to tell someone, a Priest in a Confessional is bound to keep a secret.

Absolutely... I can't think of anyone that doesn't. By no means is this to be considered a "bad" thing. We keep secrets out of respect for others. To be totally honestly open would be disrespectful of others as not everyone sees or views life, politics, etc... the same way. We expose, of ourselves, only that which applies to the individual that we are exposing ourselves to. As a general rule we need to feel accepted by others and we would avoid whatever we could to place ourselves in a light that would be unacceptable to our peers. However, we do what I call reactional exposing. We will do little revealing things to seek a reaction in order to define what is acceptable and to whom it is accepted. Thus, we create circles of friends. We create inner circles and variable outer circles. The more accepted we feel from a person of whom we have exposed our self to, the closer that person is place within the inner circles.

to me and many others secrets about ourselves are what keep us alive, keep us functioning, think of anorexics and bullemics, think of self mutilators and people who are suffering from emotional damage. these people all keep secrets, all the lies people tell are often secrets, you can never prove if they are telling the truth because words can contain so much **** and so much nonsence but the same time can contain all the truth there ever was. so i personally think that even if people are extroverted and have to tell people everything all of us have at least one secret be it big or small that they keep to themselves
