It just goes to show how radically rightist these so-called Conservatives are - everybody nowadays is a liberal, according to them. And if the media just reports the facts and the facts look bad, then they are "out to get" them, meaning they believe that the media's job is to make them look good. And this is in a public discourse environment where the media is taking guff, deservedly, for going easy on them, to say the least.
The thing about Republicans these days is that they don't have a clue about how much the Republican party has been hijacked by these radical rightists. They keep thinking its the same "Grand Old Party," and it's not. And they respond with knee-jerk loyalty to the party, when they should be saying, get these dangerous radicals out of our party!

Because, the owners own, but do not necessarily edit the papers. Follow? If the reporters and editors are heavily Democrat (and studies show that >75% of all reporters voted Democrat) then their biases will show. In how the news is presented, what level of credence given to supporting and opposing viewpoints, what adjectives and adverbs are used to describe things.
If you pay attention, you will often hear the words 'controversial' and 'right-wing' regarding conservatives and their policies, but rarely hear 'left-wing' or 'controversial' about Democrats and their policies. This is inherent bias, that, because you might agree with it, you subconsciously ignore.
Or, let's look at the last election. Just prior to the election, CBS and Dan (the Democrat fundraiser) Rather did a hit piece on Bush regarding the alleged AWOL issue, using a forged document. This issue had come up previously, and had been proven to be a hoax and political hit, but that didn't stop the intrepid Gunga Dan.
But, on the other side, here were scores of men who served with Kerry, who had sworn testimony and signed affadavits regarding the falsehood of his 'hero' pose. Kerry's DD214 and citations had some serious issues because they were issued (or rather re-issued) during the Carter amnesty for Vietnam deserters and other military criminals. This means that Kerry most likely had originally received a DISHONORABLE discharge.
Where was the media on this? Full Democrat Propaganda mode, that's where it was.
Any objective review of the media would indicate a heavy liberal bias - this is why the liberal Bernie Goldberg printed his book, BIAS, regarding the bias of the media in its reporting.
You could also go to the Media Research Center website and see the numerous examples of newsmedia bias. It has hundreds of quotes from US media people that shows a blatant bias, which should be obvious for even the most partisan true believer.

Have you ever watched the media? They give a total pass to every Democrat. Some Democrat congressman recently just insulted Indians (people from the country India), and they completely ignore it. Trent Lott said something that was not racially motivated at all, and they badger him constantly until he quit his position as Majority Leader of the Senate.
That's just one of a million examples of how the media leans massively to the left. In EVERY situation, they never question a Democrat or his policies or his actions. And they make every thing a Republican does or propose sound horrible. Turn on CNN, CBS, ABC, NBS, or any of those and it is all the same, all you have to do is be aware.

Guess what, doofus? You're a victim of the liberally biased media. Conservatives don't even own 1/4 of the media establishment, and already the whiny-@$$ed liberals are complaining. They're just pissed off because they had a monopoly on the media and now they don't, so every time they twist the facts to fit their agenda there's a conservative watch-dog media mogul there to call them on it. The truth is the American people are sick and tired of the endless tissue of lies being spit out by the mainstream liberal media, and THAT is why conservative media is gaining ground.

Only Republicans say this and that is another ploy to keep the 'truth' out of the media. Anytime something is said or done that they don't want to hear or does not fit their agenda they find an underhanded mean-spirited way to discredit the person and the message or if possible they will destroy the reporter and their career - all in the name of God.

I have this suspicion, based on my father, that conversatives may be a bit paranoid delusional. He thinks the media is out to get all Republicans no matter what.

It isn't who owns it that matters, but who writes in it. Writers and editors are overwhelmingly liberal (over 90% voted for Kerry). Ted Turner owns a pretty significant amount, too, and he is as liberal as they come.

You are right on this one. Also, did you know that the term, "Liberal Media" was coined by none other than Richard M. Nixon?
