I don't watch BET or allow my daughter to watch it. I don't want her to get the idea that a being a video ho is glamourous. I am sick and tired of hearing the "n" word repeatedly in videos and the "thug" life style that the vast majority of these videos encorage is not what I want my children or other children to aspire to. MTV is no better. I'm not saying that BET is completely and totally inappropriate but it's getting there.

Ya know I hadn't thought about it, til I saw your question.
Yes I think they do, when they are showing " Video's " I don't like "N" word. But ofcourse I'm white. But I really don't like the bikini clad women rubbing themselves against the rappers, trying to win there approval or something.
Get some self respect.

I agree that it is becoming inappropriate. I think it grabs the attention of the younger viewers especially. Most of the videos either have guys talkin about money money money, killing, or girls shakin their *** of course. One time I was at Footlocker with my two year old son and there was this little black girl probably about five or six p-popin on the floor to the music they had playin. I was like WTH! That was just wrong. Not cute at all in my opinion. Little girls especially need to know that the girls on rap videos don't always represent what a lady should be. I belive u did a right choice with ur daughter not watchin that crap.

Good for you. Bet has "sold itself to the devil" by promoting those types of images. Like you said, MTV is no better but can anybody tell me why every girl in a rap/hip-hop video has to dance the same way with their but shakin' all over the place.
I guess it attracts younger audiences which in turn makes more revenue for the station, but I'm sure you'll get bombarded with the "Just turn the channel" response.
Trust your instincts on this. Raise your children to respect themselves and you'll keep 'em off the pole!

I also say good for you. BET certainly does not portray black people in a positive way. Or even a realistic way.

And it will either shock you or come as no surprise to know that while most of the on-air entertainment is black, nearly everyone else at that network is white. Could explain things, come to think of it.

YES!!!!!!!! It's really just made for teenage boys who think it's cool to be a gangsta. You're wise not to watch it.
